Hey there, welcome! Here you will find casual musings about my adventures in food, foraging, and finding new places to explore. Born to a French father and a Chinese mother, I’m the product of two cultures that take eating very seriously. I believe some meals can really break your heart, and some can mend it just as throughly.
I have many special interests (thank you AuDHD) so this blog will remain simple in both function and form as an uncomplicated means of documenting my explorations and discoveries, as well as share them with anyone interested. The name is a play on the phrase ‘devil may care’, meaning easy-going and low pressure, which is how I generally try to approach life. Also, I just wanted a place to practice my writing and to be able to share recipes with friends!
NYC became home for me at 19, when I moved here alone from a small village in central France in 2011. I've been traipsing around Brooklyn ever since and today I live with my soft-eyed PNW partner and a feisty parrotlet named Gus, just a short walk to the water in Red Hook.
You can follow me on IG or even buy me a coffee if you like what I'm doing!
